Pike County Skaters participated in the L incoln Days Civil War Reenactment by selling soda, water and chips, assisting passengers on the wagon shuttle, supplying water to the reenactors after the battles, and serving dinner to the reenactors on Saturday evening.  President Lincoln (portrayed by Max Daniels) delighted the skaters with a photo and a plea to the crowd to support the project.  In his words, “If every person in Pike County would donate just $1, the skaters would reach their financial goal and could break ground on the new city park which will benefit the entire community.”

Skaters connected by Internet with American Ramp Company design team to discuss revisions to Phase 1 of the park based on budget. The meeting was held at JWCC to use their technology. It was exciting to talk real-time with the designers as they adjusted the design according to our requests!

Skaters washed jeeps on Friday and Saturday evening for the Two Rivers Jeep Club 4x4 Safari. Friday night was an adventure as we sat out storms trying to decide if we should stay or go. Eventually, the storms won! On Saturday evening, we washed mud encrusted jeeps for hours and earned over $500!

Skaters raked leaves and raked leaves and bagged leaves and raked leaves and bagged leaves and raked and bagged and raked and bagged... earning over $100 for the park! What a long afternoon!
